Ferguson Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard in Jordan, MN may have a new name but Minnesota Harvest apple orchard has been around for a LOOOONG time. Ok, so it’s been around since 1971. For many of us (me included), this was before we were even born.
In 2022, the Ferguson family took over and made some significant changes. I will not review the changes in this post but will publish another post for those curious about the changes.

Ferguson Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard has a LOT of Activities for Kids
There are a LOT of activities geared toward young kids. The most popular attraction is the corn pit followed closely by the inflatable pumpkin jump pad. Both activities were packed with kids and adults.
While you wait, there are also rubber duck races, a duck pond, pedal tractors, and the cow train. While adults and kids of all ages can participate in these activities the younger kids seemed to have the most fun!
Family Activities for all Ages
While there are a lot of activities for young kids there are things for families of all ages. The corn maze was fun. I was expecting to “get lost” but we found ourselves nearing the exit quickly. To have a little more fun, we turned around and went the wrong way to extend the adventure a little more.
If your family is more competitive, the tug-of-war area is a good place for you to have some fun!
The lines were long but by far the most popular activity for all ages is the apple cannons. For $3-5, you can load an air cannon with some apples and shoot toward water-holding tanks in the field. The whole time we were there, the line had at least 10-15 people waiting for a turn. It was fun just to watch the apples explode when they hit the tanks.
For Adults ONLY
Ferguson Minnesota Harvest apple orchard has something for adults only… hard apple cider. And not just any hard apple cider, their own brewed hard apple cider!! Much like the boom in craft beer breweries, there is a huge surge in hard cider brewing now. Ferguson Minnesota Harvest brews some DELICIOUS options!!
Minnesota Harvest Craft Cider is all fermented and bottled on-site using the apples grown in their orchard. You can’t get a much closer farm-to-table experience than this!
They offer seven different flavors: Crisp Apple, Cranberry Tart, Cherry Apple, Bourbon Lite, Bourbon Iced, Rose, and Summer Pear. Flavors are subject to availability. Inside the Country Store, the cider is available on tap or bottled. On warm days you can also order a drink at the outside bar but the options are limited outside.
There is seating available inside and outside but every time I’ve been there finding a place to sit is difficult. You can however take any of the bottled cider on the grounds, I suggest getting a bottle of your favorite flavor and carrying it with you as you walk around the grounds. Maybe bring a blanket and sit on the ground by the apple trees to enjoy the peace and beauty of the apple trees.
Ferguson Minnesota Harvest Offers You Pick Apples
One of the primary draws to the Ferguson Minnesota Harvest is the option to pick your own apples. There are many orchards around the Minneapolis/St Paul Metro area but not all allow you to pick your own apples.
At Ferguson Minnesota Harvest you buy a bag at the entrance and you can pick all the apples you can fit inside. There are different prices for the type of apple you want to pick so make sure you pick the apples you paid for.
Picking apples not your thing? No problem, you can also buy already-picked bags of apples in the Country Store.
Ferguson Minnesota Harvest Charges an Entrance Fee
There are a TON of things to do at Ferguson Minnesota Harvest apple orchard. Because of that, there is an entrance fee. It’s a flat rate of $15 per person over the age of 2. There is a senior and military discount so make sure you ask if you are eligible.
This includes most activities however there are some additional costs for the apple cannon ($3-5), Ferguson Mining Co dig kits ($7-45) and you pick apples ($12-22). Prices are based on publication date, check out the Ferguson Minnesota Harvest apple orchard website for updated prices.
Final Thoughts
The prices of extra activities can add up. If you are only going to pick apples, the $15 entrance fee plus the cost of the apple bag is an expensive 10-pound bag of apples. For the two of us to pick apples it cost $42. If you have kids and fully take advantage of the activities available, you can easily spend the afternoon or even the whole day wandering around the orchard and enjoying the fun.
Plan to arrive early, since the fall season is short in Minnesota, and there are always a lot of people around, especially on weekends. There is plenty of parking but you may experience lines for some of the activities.
