Not your typical brewery and restaurant.
Headed to Blaine for the weekend? Check out Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant.
On any given weekend in the spring, summer, and fall, the National Sports Complex, Blaine Soccer Complex, and the Super Rink are packed with athletes and their families. That does not stop me from getting a craft beer at Invictus Brewing and dinner at Tipsy Steer restaurant.
It should not stop you either!
Why? Because the beer is tasty and the food is delicious. And because it’s not like any other local brewery I’ve been like 56 Brewing or Omni Brewery.

What makes Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant different?
Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer Restaurant are two totally separate businesses but they share one building and one seating area.
Tipsy Steer restaurant is on the right and Invictus Brewing is on the left. Both have their own staff and their own payment systems. So if you order a beer and food, you pay twice. While this may seem like an inconvenience, it really is nice to have both options under a single roof.
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like if I go to a restaurant and only get a beer, the staff looks down on me. But that is not true with Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant. Having separate ordering locations seems to take that pressure off.
You will however be tempted by the food and chances are you will get both a beer and food.

Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant is located in Blaine, MN. East of Hwy 65 on 105th Ave NE. You may be more familiar with the Blaine Sports complex which Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer are within walking distance.

As I mentioned before, Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant are two different businesses that share a common seating area. Because of this, they don’t have wait staff to take your order. You will need to go to the respective counters to place your order.
Invictus Brewing does allow you to order through an app on your phone. Just scan the QR code on the table and complete your order. OR you can go to the bar to order your beer.
Tipsy Steer restaurant has an order counter to order and pay for your food. Each table has a menu for the food so you can figure it out before you go order.
Also, pay attention to the colorful animal card on the table. This is how the food runner will find you. When you place your order, tell them what animal card is on your table.
Why do I love Invictus Brewing?
I make it no secret I love craft breweries! Invictus is one of my go-to favorites. The beers are so flavorful and the variety of options is sure to please most palates. They offer some seasonal brews and some consistent favorites.
Personally, I love the Avenger, an American IPA. 5.5% alcohol by volume is a well-rounded IPA with hints of citrus hops. But don’t worry it’s not fruity.
I also love Blaine It On The Rain. An amber ale is also at 5.5% alcohol by volume. I love amber ales for their sweet nutty flavors. Blaine It On The Rain does not disappoint.
Why do I love Tipsy Steer restaurant?
Tipsy Steer restaurant is fantastic enough to stand on its own as a restaurant. Please don’t think this is just a bar menu that Invictus has to ensure people have something to eat. This is a full menu with fantastic food.
They source many of their ingredients from local Minnesota farms and businesses so it’s as fresh as can be. And you can taste the difference. They have a wood-fired brick oven for pizzas and make delicious BBQ favorites as well.
The burgers are juicy and flavorful and the brick oven pizzas are my favorite. There is something magical about the charred pizza crust blisters with the fresh ingredients.
I also love the Jimmer Nachos, a BBQ twist to traditional nachos. And what could be better than the MAW Bacon Lollipops??? Thick-cut bacon glazed with raspberry chipotle sauce. FANTASTIC!!!
I could rave about everything I’ve ordered so my suggestion, if it looks good, order it.
Why do you need to check Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant out?
I could list a hundred reasons but honestly, you need to go because your taste buds will be happy. Even if craft beer is not your thing, the food is so delicious you will be satisfied.
But if craft beer is up your alley you will find a beer or three that you really enjoy. The brewers take great care to make sure what they brew is perfect. You can taste the passion they put into every pour.
If the food and the beer are not enough, go for the patio. Anyone in the Midwest knows how much we love our patio dining options in the summer and fall. Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant has a nice patio, you can sit at the bar and look inside through two large garage doors or sit at the long picnic tables and enjoy the sunshine.
Whether you are looking for a family-friendly option (Tispy Steer has crazy shakes and malts) or a happy hour with friends. Invictus Brewing and Tipsy Steer restaurant is worth the drive.
